There are certain foods that instantly bring back the tastes of home, and cookies are often at the top of that list. One of the best known types of Polish cookies are, Kołaczki. Though their origin is uncertain, most people of Polish decent will easily recognize them, as they were a common item found in the kitchen notebooks of our Polish grandmothers. These semi puff-pastry cookies fold in the middle over a dab of lightly sweet fruit jam (in a variety of flavors) and are finished off with a light dusting of powdered sugar. A delicate sweet and a classic Polish treat that will bring back the sentiments of childhood and home for many.

How to defrost

Just like grandma's cookies

Absolutely scrumptious, tender cookies. Definitely brings back memories of grandma's Kolaczki. I especially love the cheese filled. I take one directly from the freezer, pop it in the microwave for 18 seconds, & it tastes like it just came out of the oven!

These treats remind me of the ones my Mom and Aunt would make when I was a kid. The pastry is so light and tasty, and the fillings are just enough. You can't go wrong getting these.

The very best!! Reminds me of my childhood!

I've been ordering these from Polana for years. I just received a package last week and Ihad ordered 5 packages of the Kolaczkis. What I do is put one in the fridge for now and then I use saran wrap to wrap each container they come in and freeze them. They freeze well and the saran wrap works well with their plastic container. Keeps the air out. When you're ready for another package, just put them in the fridge to thaw out. You can also leave them at room temperature. I find this way we will only eat one package each month, lol. They are delicious! The crust is always perfect and love the fillings. This is my favorite item from Polana. I also love the polish sausage. Thank you Polana for having these. Brings back great childhood memories. Being Polish, grew up with Kolaczkis.
