Originally created in 1790 by the Master Baker of the Prussian King, this cake is made on a rotating spit by slowly pouring on the layers of batter. The name Sekacz, comes from the golden "tree like" rings that are created by this uniquee method of preparation. A very popular cake for weddings as it can be made to stand 4 feet tall or more. The sugars in the cake develop a wonderfully light caramel tone as each layer of the batter slowly cooks in front of the heat source.
