Traditional Baked Ham Recipe

Baked as a main part of a weekly meal or sliced up for a dozen other entrees and sandwiches make ham the most versatile item you can cook.

Prep: 10 Min Cook Time: 120 min Serves: 2-4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 tablespoons of bacon drippings
  • 5 lb ham

    Directions

    • Combine ingredients into marinade
    • Boil marinade for 10 min
    • Marinate ham in mixture overnight
    • Bake ham at 450 F for 20 min
    • After 20 min baste with bacon drippings
    • Reduce oven to 300 F
    • Baste every 20 min for 2 hours
    • 25 to 30 min per pound
