Kielbasa and cabbage has been the mainstay of Polish cooking for generations. The nutrition from this staple can tide you over a long winter or even comfort loved ones through and cold.

INGREDIENTS
- 1 sliced large onion
- 1 teaspoon of caraway seed
- 2 tablespoons bacon drippings
- 2 pounds sliced cabbage
- 1 pound sliced kielbasa
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- salt to taste
RECIPE DIRECTIONS
- boil cabbage in saucepan with water
- add caraway seeds
- cover and simmer 12 min
- in separate pan
- one tablespoon of bacon drippings
- fry sliced onion till gold not brown
- add rest of bacon drippings and sausage
- fry for 5 min
- add flour
- combine cabbage and sausage
- low simmer 15 min
- add small amount of cabbage water to boil
- add salt, honey and lemon juice
- served with boiled /sliced potatoes and dill
- boil out till preferred consistency
