Mazurek Cake

There are many polish baked sweets that cross over from one holiday to the next but it is the Mazurek that is a signature aspect of Polish Easter specifically. It’s a must for any traditional Polish Easter celebration and is sometimes also placed in the Easter basket for blessing.

This Mazurek is a tall, rectangular-shaped version made in the form of a multi-layer sponge cake with layers of prune jam and a chocolate frosting spread in between. It is topped with a thin layer of jello, outlined with decorative swirls of frosting and finished off with the word “Alleluja” (Hallelujah) written through the center, giving it the perfect Easter look and taste.

This cake offers a traditional Polish sweet taste and tradition not to be missed around the Easter Holiday!

Please note -  Polana's Mazurek cakes vary based on the flavor of jello and frosting that they are topped with. Options include a lemon jello outlined with a vanilla frosting or a strawberry jello outlined with a chocolate frosting. All other ingredients are the same. Our warehouse will select one of the two flavor toppings at random for each order.

Weight: approx 1.95lb

Wheat flour, eggs, sugar, margarine, walnuts, prune, sour cream, baking powder, cocoa, coconut, vanilla

Remove the cake from the freezer and refrigerate for 6 - 12 hours. Always leave the cake wrapped while it thaws.

Smacznego!
