Kompot (KOHM-poht) - in Poland it’s the beverage most associated with Christmas! This simple, yet delicious beverage, made of stewed dry fruit & spices is a very important aspect of the Polish Christmas Eve (Wigilia) feast.
Recreate this traditional Polish beverage at Christmas this year with this dried fruit mix from Polana! Made specifically for a Polish holiday kompot, this mix contains dried pears halves, dried apple rings, prunes, seedless dates & apricots.

To Prepare a Polish Holiday Kompot with this mix simply do the following:
In a pot, pour boiling water over the top of the dry fruit mix. Pour in enough water just to cover the top of the fruit. Set your bowl or pot aside for 2-4 hours to allow the fruit to absorb the water. Next, place the pot back on the stove and fill it with water again. This time, filling it about an inch or two above the fruit. As the beverage cooks, add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar and 1-2 tablespoons of honey. The exact amount will depend on your preference.Add clove and cinnamon sticks for an added spice.
