This is the most traditional type of smoked Polish sausage. Called "wiejska" (country) or "starowiejska" (old-country) it is made according to Poland’s beloved rustic traditions. Based on a simple, traditional Polish recipe and a few simple ingredients, it is one of the best known sausage recipes among Polish grandparents. The moderate amount of fat in this Wiejska kielbasa, the choicest cuts of tender pork, fresh garlic and spices make this sausage very universal and unique. Gently smoked just to achieve the right color, the meat is full of moisture and flavor!

It is the best choice for breakfast or supper as a cold cut with horseradish or mustard or served hot: poached, baked or grilled. It can be cooked in soups such as bialy barszcz, kapusniak or grochówka, baked with sauerkraut or added to bean dishes, stews and casseroles. It is the most popular and universal sausage of all the Polish sausage varieties.
