The cheesecake with a layer of poppy seed cake is a very well known Polish tradition, and a sweet often served alongside the Polish "makowiec" (poppy seed roll) at every Christmas. In some Polish households it's also a tradition enjoyed during Easter. But, this unique cheesecake can also be enjoyed any time of year whether or not you come from a Polish background! The delicately sweet and perfectly moist top cheesecake layer is contrasted by the unique aroma and taste of the poppy bottom layer and crumble crust. Cheese part: farmers cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla
Poppyseed part: poppyseeds, honey, butter, sugar, walnuts, almonds, almond extract
Crust part: flour, sugar, eggs' yolks, baking powder

Remove Poppy Seed Roll from the freezer and leave at room temperature for up to six hours. Alternately, place bread in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours.
