In Poland, few dishes carry as much tradition and nostalgia as zupa grzybowa (mushroom soup). A staple of Polish kitchens, especially during autumn and the Christmas Eve Wigilia feast, it’s beloved for its rich, earthy flavor drawn from forest mushrooms.
Proste Historie’s Zupa Grzybowa z Podgrzybkami captures this heritage in a convenient, ready-to-heat version. Made with podgrzybki mushrooms—one of the most prized wild mushrooms in Poland—this soup offers deep, woodsy notes balanced with a delicate creaminess. Its aroma recalls the forests of Central Europe, where mushroom hunting has been a cherished tradition for centuries.
Enjoy this soup as a comforting starter or pair it with a side of Polana’s fresh-baked rye breads for a hearty, authentic Polish meal. Whether served on its own or as part of a festive spread, this mushroom soup brings a taste of Poland’s forests and culinary history right to your table—no foraging required.
Ingredients
Vegetables in varying proportions (50%) (carrot, potato, parsley root, celery), brown bolete mushroom (30%), sautéed potatoes (15%) (potatoes, sunflower oil), onion.
Preparation Instructions
Without defrosting, pour the mushroom soup into about 1 liter of boiling broth. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste. At the end of cooking, you can add cream to the soup.
