In Poland, head cheese is referred to as "Salceson," a name derived from Saucisson, the French word for a type of sausage. If you love head cheese, you will be very pleased with our selection on! This Polish “country style” head cheese in particular, offers a superb, authentic taste that will be sure to please any head cheese connoisseur. It contains the best parts of the meat and cartilage from pork head, seasoned with garlic, marjoram, allspice, black pepper, ground nutmeg, coriander seeds and salt. It's very delicate and mild and usually eaten cold as a luncheon meat.

It tastes great with a thick slice of country style Polish bread paired with grated horseradish, spiced mustard or “ćwikła,” (a flavorful blend of grated horseradish and mashed beets, served cold). Headcheese may be an acquired taste but it is certainly considered a delight and specialty among its fans!

Slice this chunk of traditional Polish country head cheese to your preferred thickness and enjoy with your favorite condiment, or enjoy a thinner slice inside a sandwich. It also makes a unique addition to a charcuterie board!
