Pairs well With:

Grated horseradish is spicy and aromatic. The holiday table should not miss grated horseradish, which is a great addition to meats and sausages, as well as sauces, mayonnaise, horseradish cream and polish cwikla. Horseradish is not only a great flavor ingredient, but also includes pro-vitamins, vitamins and minerals. It is anti rheumatic and stimulates the digestive system.

purple horse radish

Horse radish was definitely part of the Easter day meals from the mid 1950's through the 1960's. Our grandmother used to make hers with beet juice and horse radish. She was from NE Poland and I knew her in Chicago, USA. Beet juice horse radish is hard to find in grocery stores in Los Angeles, where I now live. Fond family memories of Polish Easter breakfasts where I learned to like purple horse radish.
